This weekend Boyfriend and your MatchGirl visited, or, rather, attempted to visit, three different apartments.
Boyfriend went to see one while I was at book club on Saturday morning and deemed it not good enough to take me to. While the price may have been right, the location, basically right under the BQE, was not.
We tried to see another one, a bit further out of our desired zone (think, at least a 15 minute walk to the subway, in nice weather), but the guy renting it seemed nice and the price was not unreasonable. Boyfriend arranged the visit and we walked over there - only to find the tenant unaware we were coming, and in the shower. Oops. Needless to say, we didn't get to see that apartment fully, The hallway looked swell, though.
The third apartment was, gentle readers, perfect. Well, I think as close as we are going to come to perfect in our price range. As we were about to leave my apartment after breakfast on Saturday morning, I got an email from a friend telling me he knew of someone with an apartment for rent and that we should check it out. So Boyfriend went to scout while I talked books and came to meet me at Word. He said he thought I'd really like the apartment and he was right.
It's spacious. It's in a great location. It's what we want. It's what we need.
The man did not seem too keen on Jarvis, though. I think we can convince him that our little cat is no problem, The plan? Volunteer a pet deposit and make him understand that all Jarvis does, pretty much day in and day out is curl up and sleep. What do you think? Convincing?
Keep your fingers crossed!
